Knister

Texture that plays along.

Knister shapes vinyl crackle, tape hiss or your own recordings to your signal, so the texture rides every hit and drops out in the gaps.

Hear the difference.

Both versions are level-matched. Switch while it plays and hear the texture lock onto every hit.

Hi-hats Vinyl Dust, Texture 44%
The 20 bands Knister analyzes

Noise that knows when to stop.

A noise sample on its own track just keeps going, gaps and all. Knister measures your signal and gives the texture the exact same movement.

Analyze. Knister splits your signal into 20 frequency bands and tracks the level in each one.

Shape. In every band, the texture follows the same level curve as your signal.

Mix. The shaped texture is blended in. Attack and release set how tightly it follows.

From dusty vinyl to digital grit.

37 textures in six categories, and each one gives Knister its own color. Bring your own, too: drop WAV, AIFF or FLAC files into the Knister folder, and Knister loops them and matches the level.

Knister with a texture from the Vinyl category

Dust, crackle and pops off old records.

Dust, Crackle, Heavy Crackle, Old Record, Pops, Shellac

Your own samples: field recordings, foley or anything you’ve recorded, as WAV, AIFF or FLAC.

Where it works best.

Hi-hats. Programmed hats can sound robotic. A little dust makes every hit a bit different.

Vinyl Dust

Drum loops. Crackle across the whole beat, without hiss hanging around between the hits.

Vinyl Crackle

Percussion. Wood and sand textures add body to dry percussion.

Organic Wood

Pads and keys. Tape hiss you only hear while the chord rings out.

Noise Tape Hiss

FAQ

Will Knister run in my DAW?

If your DAW loads VST3 or AU, yes: Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, Reaper and more. Pro Tools (AAX) isn’t supported yet.

Can I try Knister before buying?

Yes. The trial runs for 7 days with everything unlocked. After that, your signal passes through untouched and only the texture goes quiet until you enter a license key. Your settings stay put.

Does Knister hiss in the gaps?

No. The texture follows your signal. When your signal goes quiet, so does the texture.

Can I use my own samples?

Yes. Put WAV, AIFF or FLAC files into the Knister folder and rescan the list in the plugin.

How many computers can I use Knister on?

Up to 2. Switching machines? Release the old activation in your account.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only to activate. After that, Knister checks the license now and then in the background and keeps working offline for at least 30 days.

Is it a subscription?

No. Pay once, keep it. Updates for version 1 are free.

What if Knister isn’t for me?

We’ll refund the full price within 14 days of purchase. Just send a quick email to support@trendform-audio.com.
